Cheesesteaks

Can anyone tell me if Geno’s and Pat’s are really serve the best cheesesteaks around. Are they really that much better than anywhere else, or am I placing too much trust in my Frommer’s guide? Is it possible to get a comparable sandwich without driving all the way to Philadelphia and queuing up?

From what Ty says, Geno’s is indeed the best, though he is also apaprently a rascist, so he now goes to Pat’s.

But, yes, they are apparently “the” places to go.

you do have to go to philly, but pats and genos aren’t always the best. there’s always tony lukes. and then there’s some non name places that make damn good cheesesteaks.

    Hey Sarah,

Thanks for your tip. I’m going to give Tony Luke’s a try sometime soon.

You don’t really have to live in Philly to make this aseessmsnt. All you have to do is spend a couple days trying different places to figure it out. Simply both Genos and Pats are tourist traps for those that don’t know better and read tourist info put out by the likes of Philly Mag.
